The Author

Kyle

I'm a writer. That's the whole pitch.

I live in Twilight City — or rather, I keep building it. Theoni Brooks exists because I wanted to write something with real voice. A protagonist who'd argue back. Who'd be annoyed, actually annoyed, not just mildly inconvenienced when the supernatural lands on her doorstep. Someone who earns her place instead of being handed it.

Theoni Brooks Hates It Here came first. Then I realized it wasn't done with me — Theoni had more to say, more problems to solve, more people to push back against. Book two followed. Book three is the one I'm living in right now.

Twilight City Publishing is just me. No team, no publisher, no investors. I write the books, I put them on Amazon, I build this website, and I keep going. The independence is the point. I don't have to answer to anyone but the story.

The Mission

The books are the foundation. The goal is adaptation. I'm building a reader base, proving the story works on the page, and positioning Theoni Brooks for the kind of pitch that gets a meeting with the right people. I write. I publish. I build the audience. I make the thing that sells itself.

Why IP matters

Theoni Brooks is built for the screen. The tone — Buffy meets Good Omens meets The Good Place — is exactly what studios are looking for right now. The universe has room to grow. The protagonist has multiple seasons in her. Twilight City is a real place with real texture. That's the kind of thing that translates. I'm playing a long game here, and I'm in it for the right reasons.
